The Challenge

HUBER+SUHNER is a global Swiss company which develops and manufactures components and system solutions for electrical and optical transportation of data and energy.

The company serves customers in the Communication, Transportation and Industrial markets with cables, connectors, cable systems, antennas and other passive components, leveraging its expertise in radio frequency, fibre optics and low frequency technologies. The products stand out due to their exceptional quality, reliability and durability – even under harsh environmental conditions.

As the company continued to grow, HUBER+SUHNER needed to raise its profile at a series of key events, as well as positioning itself as thought leaders and experts in technology and infrastructure for its key markets.

Our Approach

Proactive PR was brought in by HUBER+SUHNER to help support the following objectives:

  • Expand the scope of target media to include top tier publications in vertical sectors.
  • Focus on creating original content – for example, thought leadership articles targeting the vertical sectors.
  • Place HUBER+SUHNER at the forefront of its customers’ minds.

Actions Taken

During the 2015 PR campaign Proactive PR drafted and issued 25 news releases and 15 media alerts. It also conducted 32 media and analyst briefings and produced 13 video interviews, as well as supporting the company at 15 industry events. The agency also drafted and placed nine thought leadership articles.


The PR activity generated 1,105 pieces of media coverage with an Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE) of more than £5,000,000.

Key achievements during the period included:

  • Building excellent relationships with key media, including IT for CEOs and CFOs, which has so far resulted in two feature articles, one of which was chosen for the front cover, following a one-to-one briefing with Phil Ward at Data Centre World, London.
  • Developing a strong relationship with new industry title Cable Technology News, resulting in the publication of two feature articles and three news releases.
  • Event support at DSEI 2015 raised the company’s profile immensely and gave HUBER+SUHNER more than 140 leads – a huge increase when compared to the eight received when it attended in 2014.
  • Ongoing increase of coverage across the year due to increased brand awareness.
  • Coverage spread across the globe, with HUBER+SUHNER being included in publications in Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, Africa and the Middle East.

HUBER+SUHNER is now seen as a leader in its target markets and regions as a result of the increased brand awareness generated by Proactive PR. The company is now seeking to further increase its penetration of vertical sectors and secure its position as a leading technology infrastructure partner for global businesses.
